The Kickstarter is done! Huge thanks to everyone who supported the project and made my next book possible. If you missed out, there’s still time to make a late pledge—but don’t procrastinate, the window for that is closing pretty soon.

Lots of people comparing Senate Democrats to Charlie Brown trying to kick the football, but that analogy only works in a version where Lucy has told Charlie Brown she's going to pull it away, and also that afterwards she's going to have Snoopy executed in a foreign prison

You can tell that Senate Democrats know they made an awesome deal because they sprang it on us on a Sunday afternoon and then raced it through that same night.

I was reading the calendar wrong, the actual eighth anniversary is next weekend. Which is also the fourth anniversary of my father's death. Wheeeee.
Oh wow happy 8th anniversary of the worst day of my life to all who celebrate

Only thought of this bc thinking about insurance, and how it was easier for me when married. Happy to say it doesn't haunt me quite like it once did.

Still no sure which of these sad sacks was most pathetic in "explaining" the cave in.

So far, I think it's a tie between King, and Hassan.

(But unfair contest, because we didn't get to hear from Fetterman or Durbin.)
Not a political consultant but I’m not sure “standing up to trump doesn’t work” is the best midterm message, even if if accurately represents senate dems position. Not much point in putting you in power then bsky.app/profile/atru...

as my late mother would have said, he sure has a lot of gall
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

We had all the momentum

•The American people were blaming Republicans

•A landslide Democratic victory

•Courts ordering Trump to fund SNAP benefits

Yet you couldn't convince your caucus to fight for us

It's the final straw that breaks the back of your tenure as leader, Senator

Time to step down

ugh I was hoping to wake up and find out that rumors of dem capitulation were just that, rumors, because how could anyone finish up a week of wins by folding like a cheap suit, but somehow I underestimated them

I'm going to ease up on the incessant reminders, but if you want your book, you need to take the final steps! And I want you to have your book!

Gillibrand's DC office number: (202) 224-4451
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

If you're represented by one of the squishier centrists, be sure to make a call. Now.
