Starting in Chrome 144 (currently Canary) WebGPU's WriteBuffer and WriteTexture methods should be approx twice as fast for larger uploads! My colleagues and I have been optimizing out some unnecessary copies.

NieR Automata genuinely might be one of the most important game releases of all time explicitly because of how it directly inspired DXVK, yes.

The long awaited Deckard is here!

Fascinating to see their approach to standalone VR, which is bucking the trends from other vendors in some interesting ways.

My colleague Antonio Maiorano added some basic support for capturing Chrome #WebGPU content with RenderDoc recently! I wrote a brief article about how to use it. It's pretty primitive right now, but I have high hopes that we can improve the ergonomics in the future.

IPV4: Hey, it turns out that we're gonna need more than 4 billion addresses!

Average dev: No worries. Do what we all do and use 64 bits instead of 32. You'll never have to think about it again... Uh- Georg? Everything OK over there?

IPV6 Georg: WE NEED TO UNIQUELY ADDRESS EVERY ATOM ON EARTH!

I ordered a Galaxy XR w/ controllers on the day it became available. Already got the headset, controllers said they were delayed till Nov 3rd. Then Nov 6th. Then today I got notified that they're delayed till JANUARY 8th!

They really thought nobody was gonna buy these, huh?

I feel like I say this every year but I really need people to hear it. Halloween is the best American holiday. Just kids outside welcomed into their world, marching around together, showing off their costumes to the elderly, parents meeting parents, neighbors catching up with neighbors.

@willsmith.fun Heard you talk about Starbursts on the latest TechPod, and I feel inspired to share my family's secret technique:

Roast 'em like marshmallows! Literally jab 'em on a pointy stick and hold them over a fire for a bit. Caramelizes the outside and makes the inside gooey. 🧑‍🍳🤌

I've hit the point in Silksong where all the obvious side quests are done, and I'm not inclined to wander aimlessly looking for a few last mask shards, so I guess it's time to face down the final boss (for reals this time.)

Is there anything more cringe worthy than presenters pretending to be surprised on stage while reciting a script they undoubtedly practiced dozens of times?
