In Canada we show I.D. to vote. But I.D. can be any govt issued card, and we all have health insurance so there's that card. Also acceptable is a recent utility bill with your name and address, proving your residence. If you don't have any of that, you can be sworn in right then & there and vote.

My birth certificate lists an adopted last name (mother remarried when I was 12) that I have never used. I used my OG birth certificate (different last name) on my marriage certificate. I cannot find the adoption records *anywhere* in my state. I have no way of connecting the 3 names. NOT 'simple'.
