when a journalist writes that “AI doesn’t understand context or emotional nuance the way humans do”—when LLMs don’t understand anything at all—I wonder if they imagine they are being fair-minded without seeing that they are framing the issues just the way the tech companies want them framed.

NEW: There’s a crisis in the TV industry. People with 10, 20 even 30 years experience are now stacking shelves, working in pubs, using up savings - even selling houses.

It’s the talk of the TV world. An industry crisis in plain sight.

Many factors at play - but this is not normal.

@georgemonbiot.bsky.social You just wrote that one of the perpetrators (the UK) is “committed [to] democracy & international law”. That’s a bit like saying Dr Shipman helped a lot of sick people. bsky.app/profile/geor...
If Russia is allowed to overrun Ukraine, Ukraine will become another Gaza. Netanyahu has demonstrated that you can commit repeated atrocities and still receive the support of successive US presidents.
I fear that Gaza will be the model for future occupations.

Disgusting reporting.

Hamas “agreed” to a ceasefire before the onslaught on Rafah began. Remember that? Then Israel simply changed their mind & murdered Hamas’ lead negotiator.
