Struggling to make sense of polarization and your role as a leader? This is the most important thing you'll read today.
Polarization is not just ideological. It is emotional. It grows when people feel unsafe, unseen, or left behind.

My latest piece explains how leaders can reduce zero sum thinking and rebuild trust in an age of precarity.

I'm not saying it will happen. I'm just saying that the absolute funniest result of this is Trump being taken out by a sex act with Clinton through a leaked email. Top level humor from the universe.

It’s too bad that those of us on the research and academic side who’ve been correctly saying that the goal for the Republicans was global ethnic cleansing and mass murder have been getting smeared by liberals and others on this site as conspiracy theorists or doomers for pointing this out months ago
Ooh, @bigthink.com this exchange between @joscha.bsky.social and Jeffrey Epstein is so eugenics-smeared. Contemplating using climate change and involuntary euthanasia of infirm and elderly to cull the population… I think I’m going to be ill.

As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

Imagine trying to convince someone a decade ago that this sentence would be a 100% literally accurate description of the American political situation.
The attorney general and the FBI director, a manosphere podcaster bro, pulled into the situation room a member of Congress best known for getting kicked out of a Beetlejuice musical for drunkenly giving her date a handy, in order to pressure her about the president's child sex trafficking scandal.

unclear how it would even save money to remove these but the vibe of this budget is really just scraping together the barest public amenities, crushing them into fine powder, and handing the VPD a rolled-up $50 million bill
Listening to Vancouver Council budget discussion in the background this morning. In response to a question from @seanorr.bsky.social about where they'll be retracting from the city just said they're planning to REMOVE baby changing tables and menstrual product dispensers to save costs. Shameful.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

Take Vancouver, where Mayor Ken Sims is planning to eliminate the city’s sustainability and climate department!!!

Yes, really.

Late 1800s to early 1900s labour movement history is ridiculously relevant to modern events. It would serve most people to learn about it.
On November 11, 1887, amid the fight for the eight-hour workday, four anarchists were executed as scapegoats for the Haymarket riot—establishing May Day as a day of labor struggle.

Folks have been telling me they’ve noticed I’ve gotten “a lot more political” on social media this year.

Of course I have.

The circumstances have gotten nightmarishly worse, and the consequences of inaction and staying silent infinitely more obvious.

Everyone needs to get “a lot more political.”
