Hunger Games: Audacity of the Grift
I thought there were three books but every few months I hear about Hunger Games: Lamentation of the Sower and Hunger Games: Dusk of the Plaintive Wife
First look at Ralph Fiennes as President Snow in ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.’ Out November 20, 2026.

BASH: We have seen these attacks from the president at other people. It's not new. And I haven't heard you speak out about it until it was directed at you.

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: I think that's fair criticism. And I would like to say, humbly, I'm sorry for taking part in the toxic politics.

Senate Democrats have battered spouse syndrome where they'll be sporting black eyes and broken wrists trying to say "you don't understand they're actually really nice when they don't drink"
Like I wrote, it’s Senate-brain logic: *what if we’re not opponents, but instead colleagues who all want what’s best for the American people?*

Are the “Republicans who are going to join [Dems] in trying to address healthcare costs” in the room with you right now, senator?
Shaheen on Fox & Friends: "I believe there are number of Republicans who are gonna join us in trying to address healthcare costs ... we are gonna be able to continue to right about healthcare because we're gonna have a vote in December."

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

Assume all the yes and no votes from Dem senators are strategic and not sincere votes. The party caucus made a decision. No way to know how many were in favor. Then the caucus decided who would vote yes and no based on what would protect each of them politically the most. That’s how this works.

Senate Democrats are the only group of people in America that could look at the election results from *less than a week ago* and conclude, “Ah, what the people want now is for us to roll over and show our bellies to the reactionary creeps”

I still get massively weirded out just by Chick-fil-A employees saying "my pleasure" like programmed robots. I'd rather not feel like I was in the middle of a campy slasher flick every time I walk in that store.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

This is disability visibility.

Mamdani listened. He didn’t pander or talk over the disabled journalist.

He acknowledged his concerns and gave real responses about how he plans to fix them.

1 in 4 Americans has a disability, it’s a huge number of voters.

Don’t ignore us!

I have to buy insurance off the marketplace because we're caregivers for my brother in law and don't get offered a group plan. We don't get any of the tax credits or subsidies to reduce the cost.

And the premium on our plan is still scheduled to jump $500 A MONTH in 2026. That's almost 40% spike.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 91st day out of the last 103.

12 days of work in 103 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Stagflation

The Fed Chair is describing stagflation but does not want to say the word.
Powell: "In the near term, risks to inflation are tilted to the upside, and risks to employment to the downside -- a challenging situation. There is no risk-free path for policy as we navigate this tension between our employment and inflation goals."

I love living in a time where "Secretary of ___" means having someone prioritizing destroying the thing they are in charge of.

See: Commerce, Energy, Education, Defense, Health, Homeland Security, Labor, Transportation, Treasury
Sean Duffy: "If you're a Democrat, you're a liberal, you don't like cars and you want people to ride public transportation, I think that's wonderful, good for you. But if you want us all to ride public transportation, make it safe. Make it clean. Make is beautiful. I don't know why NY can't do that"
