Thing is, I can smoke a bowl of ganj and either be productive or veg out. The next day I feel fine. When I drink, I am not productive, can't veg out, and am sick and/or depressed for 2 days. And I love the taste of liquor too.
New Gallup poll shows that just 54% of Americans say they drink alcohol—"the lowest Gallup has recorded since first measuring alcohol use in 1939," per a press release. The trend coincides with growing understanding that even moderate drinking is unhealthy.

Medieval peasants would get the equivalent of an office pizza party when their lord required them to do extra work (a boonwork day). They’d get good bread, ale, beef and fish like this 15th century recipe for Barbel Boylled. youtu.be/CFXuZAGEO5c?...

I'm getting back into baking things. Someone in my building is moving out and left a bunch baking trays of various shapes and sizes, a bunch of good spices that I need for some recipes, and a tasty looking bottle of hot honey. The universe provides sometimes.

Ironically, I bet Kirstie Alley is really wishing she was still alive so she can do some cross-promos for this.

Story is not focusing on the actual interesting Estonian find:
"...an 800-year-old cross depicting genitalia that makes a sound when worn.
The metal cross has a hinged piece in the shape of a vulva that covers and knocks against an engraved penis design when moved around."

I walked past a guy in an orange sweatpants with a matching orange sweatshirt under a black puffer vest. I was very close to asking him if he was headed to blow up the Death Star.

My GenX music snobbery was incorrectly directed at 80's radio pop rock like Pat Benatar. I liked The Beatles but preferred The Bee Gees version of The Beatles (shhh). My fave album when I was 16 was "Songs That Got Us Through WW2". I've memorized most of those songs.
As someone who is this guy's age I can tell you 100% that if you were into Pixies, Nirvana, 120 Minutes stuff, etc. but didn't like the Beatles you had to have worked hard to contort yourself into that special little box. Your enemy, if you absolutely needed one, was hair metal. GTFO here with this.
