The man who made movie poster art, well, *an art* has passed: the great Drew Struzan.

Loved his work.

Let's not forget how he was tasked to make a poster for The Thing in hours knowing only the premise of the original 1951 film. The paint was STILL WET when he handed it in.

May he rest in peace.

Stephen Miller visits Nutty Putty Cave.

A grey human shape represents the position of John Jones, who crawled down these passages and became stuck upside down in the second one. The passages were so narrow his legs were unable to clear the roof of one and so he could be pulled out. They would have to be broken at the knees to bend backwards and be able to pull through the cave.
In 2009, 26-year-old John Jones became trapped in the Nutty Putty Cave near Salt Lake City, Utah, during a family caving trip over Thanksgiving.

While exploring the narrow passages, he accidentally entered a section known as “Bob’s Push,” believing it led to a larger chamber. Instead, he became wedged upside down in a passage only 10 inches wide and 18 inches high.

For 27 hours, rescuers worked relentlessly, using ropes, pulleys, and drills in an effort to free him. But the confined space, unstable rock, and his inverted position made any movement extremely dangerous. After nearly two days of continuous attempts, John Jones remained trapped in the same position, unable to be reached. Despite their efforts, Jones passed away in the cave from cardiac arrest caused by prolonged compression and restricted circulation.

Nutty Putty Cave was later sealed permanently.
