The other night a friend and I made a playlist on YT. It was very silly (worst songs from '90 to '07), but first time in awhile I had anything close to the fun of making a mix tape/burning a CD for someone. Streaming is so focused on algos and sales, but not nearly enough on shared experience.
It was such a pleasure to give and receive music as a gift. I hate streaming, it's just not the same experience as listening to a physical album. It's a big loss.
