Seriously, I know what I'd do with Bond. Total reboot, period, young Bond, set in the 50s, Cold War - but with modern sensibilities addressed via presenting Bond tonally as an anti-hero. Let him be the skeezy, reactionary, misogynistic, sentimental, alcoholic speed-chugging mess from the books.

‘For philosophers devoted to the authority of Aristotle but nervous about the clash between his cosmology and the creationism of the Abrahamic faiths, it was reassuring to think that God’s existence could be established either way.’

This is an excellent example of what it is in fact antifascists do. As the current administration is calling them terrorists, and equating them with Democrats, many democrats want to distance themselves, say they don't, or water them down. 1/
Nazis rallies today in Missoula Montana out side of the synagogue.
They were chased away.
Interestingly western WA nazi Larkin McIntyre showed up to join WLM and Big Sky AC. More about Larkin (who is currently suing to get his Shoreline WA school job back) cvantifa.noblogs.org/post/2023/06...

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Your Cherokee words for today.
The top word is English followed by how it is written in the Cherokee language followed by how it is spelled in English then how to pronounce it phonetically.

Long ago there was a famine period that hit one clan of Cherokee called the Ani-Tsa Guhi (ahnee-Jha Goohee)

I just want everyone to have the experience of living in dignity with access to sufficient food, safe housing, needed medical care, high quality education, and time to engage with what sparks their curiosity and spirit

this should not be controversial 🫠

Must read from Reuters on how Trump officials are coordinating with right-wing social media influencers.

They know that big scoops build subscribers. So many big news stories are handed to reporters. Now, Trumpers give them to social media posters. It works wonders for their numbers.

in my opinion, there is no excuse for a democratic system not to weight all citizens equally. Everyone should vote, every vote should count the same, and systemic care should be given to ensure all voters are positioned to make rational choices. None of these things are true in America.

An argument is often made that the current system is good actually because it has lifted people out of poverty and brought so many prosperity.

Technological progress has indeed brought efficiencies that have enabled people to live much better. 1/

I’ve actually recently found one use for AI, with Claude.

I like to take clinical notes in bullets, but my boss wants them in narrative form. So if I paste them in with a prompt, it does a good job with it. Saves me quite a bit of time.
I honestly don’t get the value of this company. They hoover up energy and water. Their product constantly gets things wrong and, in extreme cases, coaches people into suicide.

And it’s all built on what seems to be malicious and vast intellectual property theft.

What does OpenAI offer the world?
“authors & publishers who filed a lawsuit against the Sam Altman-led firm have secured access to internal Slack messages… discussing the mass deletion of a pirated books dataset… A NY district court ordered OpenAI to hand over the communications regarding data deletion”
