means-testing denied me any financial aid whatsoever for college.
I paid most of the way myself after my dad reneged on paying my sophomore year - sending me running to the bursar to fail simply because I could not satisfy the means test because it relied on my dad providing his tax returns

I had what is hopefully a pretty Freshman EE (I was pure CS) mind-blown moment with this where I have PWM motor drivers now (they PWM! and it's got AMPS!) and I realized that a PWM motor driver and a PWM LED strip dimmer are the same thing (I mean, reverse doesn't work, but otherwise...)
I bought a chain-driven window opener from Zemismart and it was DOA. and because I am compulsively an engineer I decided I wouldn't let that stand and I have completely reverse-engineered the device and told them what the most likely root-cause is (I am not using a 433 remote, fuck that)
