they retained the old proscenium arch inside the pub @margueritek.bsky.social There’s also several poems by the American poet, Robert Frost. I’m unsure what his connection to #Beaconsfield town was, but I really like this one.

The road less travelled makes all the difference.

been to the new Spoons @margueritek.bsky.social in the old cinema: a bit like walking into church. There’s a completely unsigned Council car park behind it, but being in the town, instead of the motorway services, it’s unlikely I’ll be using it like the old one, which was only 20 minutes from LHR

Stepped out on to the street to take this photo and the snow was up to my knees. And I'm 6 feet tall.

in the church staff meeting today, my colleague said “that was 24 years before I was born, Colin” in response to one of my church historical references (the creation of the narthex). We both laughed.

All good.
No issues.
a Randomer flagged me down, on The Square in #Abingdon, just as I was about to park up. felt a bit apprehensive, with a stranger in the back of my car, for the first time in a long while, en route #Didcot. of course, for 10+ years of the prime of my life 1800 to 0400, this was how I made my living..

there was a little bit of a rainbow over the #Church, after worship yesterday: went outside in the rain, to photograph it. It didn’t get any stronger, but I thought the conditions were good for it, being bright sunshine and a downpour

I really like a Musician who shouts out the first few words of the next verse, especially when they randomly change the established order of verses.
So you can put the right words up on screen. It’s a kindness, in the midst of worship.

I BELIEVE IN LIFE ETERNAL
I BELIEVE IN THE VIRGIN BIRTH.

Yeah. Exhausted running Visuals and Sound, due my mate being away with his family.
But we have faithfully proclaimed the Gospel.

I might have an afternoon snooze.

on the Set List this morning:

Opening:
Build My Life
The Prayer of Saint Patrick
Response:
Cornerstone
God I look to You
Communion:
Oh Come to The Altar
Open The Eyes of My Heart
Closing:
This I Believe
rarely were the words of the opening number more apposite than this morning, which the Lord has made:
“I arise today by the mighty strength of the blessed Trinity” going to the Lord’s house now and I pray that I get a shedload of work done, before The Musos show up.

At PCC Away Day we did consolations and desolations a la Ignatius and my desolation was basically "how do we keep going and hold on to the Gospel when the world is so fucked up?"

And then I came home and turned on the news and...Kyrie Eleison.

Saturday night in The Parish, with my mate: “The Inflatables have been playing pubs in this city since 1980, mate, that’s more than 46 years….they are #Oxford legends.” I do like this poster design.

#Oxford friends: there’s a *massive* queue of 30 minutes+ on Hythe Bridge Street getting in and out of Oxford rail station and *especially* on Hollybush Row, where at least 6 cars each cycle are going through on a red light. Recommend avoiding. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Cheese shop, #Henley on Thames: these sewn Union flags are way better quality than the cheap nylon printed ones adorning the lampposts on the roundabouts of this great county, for some time now, which need replacement because they get tatty, in the wind …
