Sir I am not in the habit of eating the shell of the nut—that's just regular wood. It's the nut's house.
I gotta say, in looking at a number of Spiritual Direction resources that seek to distinguish it from discipleship work or spiritual "coaching," there seems to be a lot of splitting hairs and unhelpful distinction of "thinking/reflection" in order to provide job security for spiritual directors. 🕯️

I may go a little hard tomorrow in saying that the main reason the majority of (white) Christians in the US do not hear about the overwhelming witness of scripture to God siding with the underdog, oppressed, and marginalized is that we are not those groups and we are profoundly uncomfortable w/that.

To join in the cause of the poor and oppressed, as a Christian, is not only to align oneself with a God who is a God of justice, but it is also to engage in an act of anti-idolatry, to remember that God can work through human weakness and that the powerful of this world are NOT gods.
