Sir I am not in the habit of eating the shell of the nut—that's just regular wood. It's the nut's house.

This is Maria, a 6-year-old detained by ICE last year.

She began to unravel soon after arriving at a detention center in Texas, wetting the bed after years without accidents, crying through the night and begging to breastfeed again.

Most of all, she wanted to be reunited with her cat, Milo. 1/

Our tiny ol’ church has a policy about ai that if you share something generated by ai, you’re the one who bears responsibility for what’s in it.

Seems like maybe the highest office in the land could be held to something like that standard.
Have no fear, New York Times is ON IT.

That repressible video is something that 15 years ago would only have been shared by the bleeding edge of the most racist people on Facebook; today it was shared by a sitting president of the United States.

The public made noise for Liam Ramos and it got him released from Dilley.

Now we must make noise for 7 year old Diana Crespo.

Her parents were taking her for emergency medical care when ICE grabbed them, and she’s rotting in the camp sick and exposed to measles.

Get them out!

So we take down public displays that make the US look bad... but it's important to keep statues of people who literally committed treason and sought to tear the US apart.

👍

I need someone to rewrite "Breath of Heaven" to actually be a communion hymn, since "Bread of Heaven, cup of salvation" fits the meter.

I grew up middle middle class and now debatably am upper middle class and thrift—specify alt thrift stores—was/is a huge part of our life.

Like, other than clericals and shoes I don’t think I’ve bought a new article of clothing in four years.
My god. I grew up lower middle class and thrift was just a normal part of life.

And most stuff I consume has gotten much better since then. I have what feels like a higher standard of living now as a grad student on a rather lower inflation-adjusted budget than what my family had when I was a kid.
Cutting coupons and buying generic are not indications of "living below the poverty line" and the fact that people think this is due to their brains being cooked by social media content which distorts perceptions of what a middle class existence actually is

One strange quirk of The Office is the way they play some sense of “corporate loyalty” straight—like when Jim says “Michael Scott wouldn’t have done THAT” about when Josh took the Staples job or when everyone is mad about the clients MSPC took from the DM.
