I gotta know what kind of ZIRP shit Gen Z guys love because investing is about to get real stupid. Crypto seems a bit played out, what else is there?

It’s a numbers game and we should make it an explicit numbers game: a lottery with a floor for entry. None of the Lake Wobegon overachiever arms race, just objective criteria and if you meet them you get a number, good luck.
basically every college admissions director will tell you that they could throw out their entire incoming class and replace it with a new one that is indistinguishable in terms of grades and accomplishments
I cannot stress this enough: if you or your child or you on behalf of your child treat admissions as a validation exercise rather than what amounts to a lottery you are begging for a massive hit to your ego. No matter how exemplary or impressive an applicant is it's just numerically punishing.

There’s no win in burrito taxi discourse.
I’m sorry but if “delivering food” isn’t the kind of job that robots are allowed to take then what is the point of even inventing robots
Just as you thought food delivery companies couldn't inflict any more misery on society:

Instead of using lowly-paid gig economy contractors to deliver groceries, they're replacing humans with robots, who, in turn, force humans off the pavement into road traffic.

The transit fiscal cliff has been averted! Earlier today, Illinois lawmakers passed a $1.5B package to fund and reform transit.

Thank you all for your support in getting us to this moment. We did it y'all! 🎉🎉🎉

Give me a free ticket and I’ll do it
Lionsgate is holding a screening of ‘The Long Walk’ where you have to walk 3 MPH or faster on a treadmill for the entire movie

• Theater has been retrofitted with treadmills

• If you stop, you’ll be escorted out of the theater and can’t watch the rest of the film

I think we’ll have a cable-cutting movement but for phone numbers within 15 years.
Is there any upside to answering the phone anymore? The scam rate used to hover around 75% and now it seems to be consistently close to 100%.

He shot one of several fund CEOs that Blackstone (not BlackRock, which is a different company) has, not *the* CEO, Schwarzman, who is very much alive.
it’s also super cute how the media saw how we all reacted to luigi so they tried to pretend the black rock ceo murder was on accident.

they tried to pretend like someone was mad at the nfl and took a wrong turn and somehow shot the ceo of a very evil company.

oopsies.

Smelting pig microchips in our backyard fabs
This works out to 1 out of every 26 people between the ages of 25 and 54 in this country, or one out of every 22 in that age range currently in the labor force. Just laughable stuff.

We want a highly pro-social society, but critically it can involve no increase in our taxes, restrictions on our behavior, feelings of duty to others, or action on our part.

You know, a fantasy.
increasingly obvious that a lot of people want left-wing policy but without the social democratic tax based policy for broad based funding

I agree. We should only have speed cameras and red light cameras and bus lanes and such from River North to Lincoln Park to ensure these burdens are primarily on the well-to-do.

Safety is a luxury good for luxury people. /s
Hot take: surcharges on goods and services which harm the planet only work when there are accessible FREE alternatives. Otherwise they're just regressive taxes transferring wealth from the poor to the rich.
