Last week I visited the largest rice millers in Ghana, to see our fortification project in action. Cereals fortified with minerals and a selection of vitamins remains one of the most cost effective ways to deal with micronutrient deficiency. With thanks to @wfp.org and @rockefellerfdn.bsky.social

Loved @jennifer-clapp.bsky.social's book on the history of Big Ag. I wish I could have read it at the start of my career.

Don't be put off by the cover there's loads about our contemporary food system too, and to quote Pearl S Buck 'If you want to understand today, you have to search yesterday' 📚💙

On the plus side dollar weakness lowers the value of dollar-denominated debt, which would alleviate some fiscal constraints for highly indebted economies in Africa . (Would love an actual economist to confirm if that’s true )

sorry i know this is basic or whatever at this point but i don't think we should stop reminding ourselves that politics in the UK this week has been mostly about what a ketamine-addled American South African fuckhead has been tweeting at 4am and that's fucking mad? this shouldn't be happening?
