Accidentally managed similar with a tea light heating iodine in a boiling tube this week. Was aiming to show the vapour colour under the visualiser and gas tap location didn't work.
Will keep using tea lights in future.

Now that I think of it, it’s not fair of me to be mad at my body for packing away toxic levels of iron as ferritin and refusing to use any of it even when it threatens my life while I (my brain) am packing away canned/dried food, iodine pills, water, and dog food and barely affording to feed myself.

This lets me ask my medicine question thank you. I have a medicine that I take every day twice that 45 minutes after I take it I get the iodine tingles. Anyone else have that?

Just passed the 9 year from radioactive iodine for thyroid cancer. Still in remission, great health. I am appreciative of the chance I’ve been given (through medicine/science) and plan to keep exploring all I can.

If you're able to touch or hold the cat, you can GENTLY clean the wound with a 50/50 solution of povidone iodine or betadine (cheap and available at any pharmacy) using cotton balls. Repeat 2x daily until you see healing. Or take to your vet, then keep the kitty or rehome to people who care.

the popularity of sea salt in the US is part of a rejection of iodised salt. you need iodine to live, that's why we in the US iodise our salt, bc our cuisine lacks a natural source

You are absolutely correct. Gotta know how to shop for spices and when to replace/use fresh ingredients. I’ll have extensive spice training in my new program. MSG is actually a healthy alt to table salt with iodine. Use Kosher salt for table top garnish.
It is a BATTLE to secure low/no-salt signature seasonings (I think more so outside the US than in the US), but it’s worth trying.
But in the US? Almost no excuse not to check that sodium with products like this. No MSG either, which can have a sodium-like effect on hypertension in some people 💡

did clove oil actually work for the dry socket? I had a dry socket for weeks after I got my wisdom teeth out, I had to keep going back to the dental surgeon to get it packed with gauze soaked in some pungent mix that included iodine. it was so gross but it did work

Finished at the allergy clinic until the end of January. They tested me for shellfish and iodine and it was just as well that I didn’t give into that bullying radiologist because I was so allergic to them!

Snake update
This is a sample of what I have some of my snakes in. Not sustainable at all and this one got a few cuts and iratations around his face. He’s on antibiotic spray and iodine (small) soaks to help prevent infection. Hopefully I’ll have a new rack for all them soon 🥲
