Library worker. Mets fan. I write about movies but mostly I just watch them.

Got tired of all the cutscenes in Wolfenstein 2 so I switched over to Metal Gear Solid 3. Rational decision making

Making a point of rewatching stuff I haven’t seen in a while. Like Memories of Murder which I haven’t seen since years before I bought the blu-ray I bought years ago now. Still goes crazy hard

Over at Dim the House Lights, I wrote through my ambivalence about The Bone Temple which continues Garland's ideas forward zombie project but replaces the shock of its predecessor's strong aesthetic with a defining ordinariness.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
After completing its narrative arc with a beautiful display of humane kindness in the face of insurmountable horrors, 28 Years Later ends on a completely bizarre cliffhanger. Having just left Dr. Kels...

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.

Anyone who is part of the federal government who is not doing everything in their power to stop this administration, regardless of the assumed cost to normalcy or career, is a coward and a collaborator.

I'd only add, if you vote to fund ICE, there's no denying that's the mission you're supporting now. You're also complicit
ICE has now carried out two summary executions of innocent people in the streets of an American city.

If you work for ICE, there's no denying that's the mission you're supporting now. You don't get to claim in one year or ten or twenty that you didn't know what ICE was doing. You're complicit.

ICE just shot another one of my neighbors. They had the person on the ground, being beaten by several agents, and then fired multiple shots. In front of the donut shop where we like to get donuts for our kids.

Philly been dining out on the Hitchbot thing since 2013 . It’s been decades since they whipped a battery at Santa. The craziest thing they’ve done recently was when that guy ate shit after the Eagles won and that was before COVID. Minneapolis has the belt right now sorry to say.

Mets broadcast losing DeMarsico honestly stings as bad as Alonso and Díaz. Even as bad as the team got (and wow did they get bad) I was happy to watch them play and see what the SNY team was gonna do this game. Sounds like Mets games are going to look like every other baseball game now. Brutal loss

Lopatin snub is not that surprising. They basically never go for beep boop music except for the one time that they did and the TSN score is a bit less beepy boopy anyway

Every AFC Championship Game since 2011 has featured either the Patriots or the Chiefs.

When I saw Stray Dog at Film Forum years ago there was a class (I think from Hofstra) in attendance. They were fine enough during the movie, but so annoying in the lobby afterwards. Plus they all loudly hated Stray Dog. What the fuck man
To the justifiable discourse about how the repertory cinema experience is degraded by the smirky laughter of filmgoers who don't know how to process their own discomfort, all I can add is that if you're in a theater with a group of college kids who have been ASSIGNED to see a movie, brace yourself.>
