I think this raises a really interesting question. If you are going to defeat populism through delivery you need to deliver things:
1. Which really matter to a lot of people; and
2. So incontestably that you overcome coordinated disinformation.
Dull but technically essential reform may not do that.

The current estimate is that £10.9billion was “wasted”. But we spent an estimated £29.3billion! Germany by comparison spent just £3.2billion. It’s also interesting to note that other countries, Germany, Spain, Italy et al are all looking at potential fraud and cronyism in connection with COVID.
