Powerful piece, and resonant. Alzheimer's runs in my family, has claimed several members of my family, while others are currently in the throes of that disease.

The population of Pakistan is 255M- suspect it would be the largest nation, by population to reach this point.

Solar+storage is probably the fastest and cheapest way to electrify the developing world. It could have huge implications for global standards of living
Jebus, in just 2 or 3 years Pakistan has imported enough solar panels that, in some times in the coming year, panels will cover *all* the country's demand.

While baristas are on strike, our job is simple: DON’T SHOP AT STARBUCKS.

They’re striking for fair pay and respect and we’re standing with them.

Show the billionaires our solidarity is stronger than their greed.

Driverless cars (e.g. Waymo) are no doubt safer than human-driven cars. But we need fewer cars overall. We need *reduced household expenses *lower emissions and fewer microplastics *less car dependence *better, more comfortable transit *excellent bike and walking infrastructure.

Friends and Neighbors! Negotiations for the Roof Depot site are ongoing, but the city is dragging its feet, jeopardizing tax credits that would cover 30% of the cost of a 1.3MW solar garden that could provide clean electricity for 250 homes

Would love it if we could do this. Street lighting is important for public safety, but if we could get that without so much light pollution, it would be awesome
Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics"

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him.

Hi Minnesotan Bluesky:

The DFL has a well-known transphobia problem. I'm organizing to change the party platform in 2026 to be explicitly supportive of trans people in Minnesota. This will provide a basis for expelling transphobia from our party.

And likewise for our automobile transit. I'd argue that there is *no* mode of transportation (probably even walking) that doesn't rely on government funding to build and maintain (yes, the OP is about feds, but it is relevant to all levels of gov't)
So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

How's this for energy abundance? Millions of Aussies will start receiving three hours of free power each day in 2026. This is what happens when you make rooftop solar less than a buck a watt!!

"Rooftop solar installations cost about $840 (U.S.) per kilowatt of capacity before rebates." 🤯
