ICYMI — “I identified myself as a U.S. citizen and a veteran, but that didn't matter. ICE Agents smashed my window, sprayed tear gas and pepper spray into my car, dragged me out… this experience violated the very principles I fought to defend.”

Same, same, for me, appendicitis, for my son, NICU.
Similar thing for me and the NICU.

Oh, my kid needs to be transferred within three hours to stay alive? Hold on, let me call around on Christmas Eve for the best price on a condition we haven’t even ID’d yet.

These people are deeply unserious.

Signed, another economist who generally likes markets
Reminds me of that time I needed emergency appendectomy & I was on morphine & the hospital billing guy came to my room to ask me to pay the copay upfront

I was like dude I’m going next door to check the other hospital‘s price also what’s my name again

Ps I’m an economist, ok w/markets generally

worth noting here that the position of the conservative legal movement is that trying to remedy environmental racism is itself illegal race discrimination

If you ever claimed you want immigrants to do it the right way, this should outrage you. On the other hand, If you think this was okay, you need to come to terms with your white nationalist views.

A new video of a Tesla Optimus robot falling over after a motion that resembles removing a helmet has people suspecting that robots are remotely operated and not autonomous.

This looks suspiciously like the human operator took off their headset before going into a rest mode causing it to fall over.

Did you ask him if his job was under threat if he failed to follow an illegal order? Did you ask him if he knows killing the shipwrecked is an illegal order? Did you ask him if he was promised clemency if he took the fall? What did he say? TELL US. Stop dancing around these questions.

Agree with this thread. Worth reading in full.

25 years ago John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, and AC Barrett all worked on GWBush's 2000 Florida recount team. What they're doing now is, if anything, more nakedly partisan.

Fire-breathing dissent by Kagan, with Sotomayor and Jackson.
They're not even trying to appear nonpartisan anymore.
#BREAKING: Over dissents from the three democratic appointees, #SCOTUS puts Texas's new House maps back into effect for (and, presumably, through) the 2026 midterms.

The three Democratic appointees, in an opinion by Justice Kagan, dissent.

I'll post the ruling shortly.
