Now that Ferrari has said sayonara to Carlos Sainz, here's my take on why top teams like Red Bull and Mercedes refused to sign him and how he ended up in Williams. Let me know your thoughts! 😂

Home at Williams: Why did top Formula 1 teams refuse to sign Carlos Sainz?
Why did Carlos Sainz, the “hottest free agent” of the 2024 season, fail to secure a seat at a top F1 team and end up in Williams Racing?

anyway fuck stupid media narratives and stupid fucking team principals and read 34 minutes of Charles Leclerc propaganda
Charles Leclerc's career has not been straightforward. Oftentimes, he is criticized heavily for his mindset not being a strength in his skillset.

But it's quite the opposite. And through sheer will and hope, he has refined himself to become one of the best drivers of this generation.

Carlos Sainz inside the Top 6 is a good example for how much this sport suffers from recency bias.
Carlos Sainz is the first Williams driver to be ranked inside the top 6 by the team principals since George Russell in 2020 🤝

I lived through Schumacher and Hamilton and Verstappen. Championships were ugly and messy, but nobody really argued about the core skill of the driver. The no.1 skill we know of re: our REIGNING WDC is free air driving. I asked HIS FANS to give me an inspiring drive and nothing. I WILL HATE FOREVER.
Alright, I'm done being a hater but neither will I act like this is a good thing.

he has molded himself into a driver capable of so much more than we ever anticipated before his career took off. i've been watching him for 10 years. i have zero doubt he is a generational talent.

now it's on Ferrari do to the rest.

i am very proud of Charles this year. in my opinion, he's been his best this season. considering the car he is in, his results have showcased the kind of driver he is and what he's capable of. despite my complaints about this car, watching him take pole in it and have 7 podiums is a feat.

If Abu Dhabi finishes like this, Norris wins by exactly 2 points.

Which is the exact amount of points he gained because of the mandated swap.

some nice words for Fred to cheer up the mood:

“Charles got off to a great start, his restart was perfect. He paid the price for the contact between Piastri and Antonelli. Charles is not responsible. I can't complain about the pace this weekend, at least as far as Charles is concerned."

all the hard work Fred & co have done to protect this team from the narrative-hungry media this season. all the work the engineers have done to try and make this mid car competitive. Charles has 7 podiums and a pole out of it.

and this is what you say to boost your ego over a WEC championship? lmao

The other day I was sent a post from the other app on WhatsApp. F1 Academy driver Nina Gademan faced a character assassination from GPBlog. It was a highly misogynistic and sexist opinion piece from Ludo Van Denderen, who clearly lives in the stone age. This says a lot about the people running it.

Imagine watching this race and not thinking Charles Leclerc can win a world championship with a proper car over a full year. Superb.

P3 considering he had the higher deg tyre in the first stint and constantly off line defending as well. Superb.

And a huge assist to the outstanding Max as well.
