i think your disappointment is understandable!! i am naturally quite jaded about the state of F1 media because of situations where they’ve painted my favorite drivers’ situations to be something they’re not. but i think it’s natural to feel almost betrayed by people who are supposed to be accurate

and media love to follow want the fans want and what gets them clicks instead of adhering to a proper code of ethics.

the problem with F1 “media” these days is that they don’t follow journalistic integrity. ever. and i think a lot of the paddock has already lost a lot of respect for Ted due to various circumstances and a situation like this won’t help anything.

but a lot of fans don’t care about that

yeah even Charles got lucky in the sense that his family didn’t have the funds but he had a family friend who owned a karting circuit. he still struggled all the way through karting to receive proper funding. but pay drivers are absolutely not uncommon. and people are always delicate about the convo

The revelations in court that Lando Norris paid for testing and FP1 sessions aren't news to anyone who's worked in motorsport.

Drivers paying teams for sessions, either directly or via sponsors, is the norm, not the exception.

also a lot of this is not unique to motorsports. it happens in others as well. you often have to come from money and get private training time to climb up the ladder
