UCP convention crowd: LOUD BOOS
Danielle Smith tried to sell her federal-Alberta energy deal to the UCP convention crowd: tepid applause.
She told them that this proved Canada can work well for Alberta’s interests: loud boos.

This ain’t a base that wants Smith to work with a Liberal PM on a better industrial carbon tax.

Imagine the hole in Alberta’s budget when the price & demand for oil is in long-term decline in 2030s as a result of the energy transition and increased demand for clean energy. Not nostalgia for the past, it’s about winning the future. Just economics, folks.
Alberta faces $6.4-billion deficit as falling oil prices and trade troubles take toll
This year’s budget represents a massive multibillion-dollar swing from an $8.3-billion surplus last year

A central issue at trial for the My Lai massacre in Vietnam was whether an Army lieutenant, or the Army captain who was his superior, was responsible for the order to leave no survivors.

Neither suggested the SecDef would have given such a command.

Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

(That is consistent with prior NYT reporting)

Trump claims “any document” signed by Joe Biden is “hereby terminated.”

He calls out executive orders later but obviously “any document” would be much broader and include legislation.

(He can’t legally do that but, as always, we get to watch how far he can push this without repercussions)

Anti-Muslim hate has been core to the MAGA brand for 10 years. It was central to all Trump's campaigns. His first term began with his attempt at imposing an illegal Muslim ban. And if anything, it is only getting worse.

REPORTER: What do the Somalians have to do with this Afghan guy who shot the National Guard members?

How consumed by off-the-rails anti-science antivaxx conspiracy theories is the Alberta UCP?

- Stop mRNA vaccines use in AB?
- provide vaccine detoxing (read: embrace pseudoscience)?
- educate about "vaccine injuries"?
