The worst movie takes you'll ever agree with.
Preach
BlueSky is good for the same 2-3 comments every time.

"And you're surprised?"

"Don't compare X to Y, X actually has value har har har"

"How dare you make light of Z, I have personal trauma surrounding Z"

Annoying as shit.

They're not the main characters obviously, but the pirates in Project A Part II are setting up to murder Jackie Chan's character for whupping their ass in the first movie and it has an awesome punchline lol.
Looking for suggestions of a movie that is built around revenge, but the character who wants revenge decides not to exact it. And there's no cheating by having the bad guy die accidentally or be handed off to a local gang, etc. It should be a variation of "no thanks, I don't need revenge anymore."

Still think Hot Ones should bring back YG, that dude just fucking trashed their entire season 1 sauce line, they need to try to destroy him with Da Bomb.

I had just walked by this theater three weeks ago while visiting L.A. (mistaking it for the theater from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood before turning around and realizing "oh THAT's the theater) so I'm gonna say I blessed it that way.

The most objective take to have on the Beatles is if you dislike Ringo Starr, you are a bad person.

We were at every Jackie Chan movie in existence and then they all got disqualified by "says something snarky".
What’s that one movie where the guy is minding his own business and this group of thugs start hassling him but the don’t know he is secretly a great fighter and he beats them up and then says something snarky?

Yeah, it's Jesus Christ.
There’s only one JC who always delivers, and it sure isn’t John Chu.

The thing about idiot plot for me is that the issue is not the fact that the characters are dumb, but that I should not be smarter than the ones that are deemed "geniuses". Because I'm flatout fucking stupid, objective truth.

The way a fella knows Martin Scorsese has rizz is that he directed a Palme d'Or winning motion picture where he cameos in it and rants about his wife while spewing the n-word without incident, but Tarantino tried the same shit 18 years later and everybody be like "tsk tsk Tarantino, do better" lol.

Having a signature sticker on the Eyes Wide Shut 4K would not only be a hard-as-hell way to shut down the discourse but also to announce Kubrick faked his death lol.
November 17, 2025 at 8:37 PM
I like to harp on Scorsese as a fella I like more than I love (and especially 21st Century Scorsese almost uniformly leaves me cold) but the man has gone to the mat for cinema's survival as an artform and has more than a few masterpieces where he locked in and shook us up.

Finding out the Vatican library is about to have a copy of Vortex gives me the same sensation of finding out the ISS having a copy of Firefly and Serenity on it lol.
The Pope meeting:
Wang Bing
Bertrand Bonello
Albert Serra
Gaspar Noé (handing him a Blu-ray others have identified as VORTEX)

Online movie nerds going to war over the color and grain in the Eyes Wide Shut Criterion 4K, meanwhile my only REAL lament is that I wish we had three different aspect ratios like the On the Waterfront blu-ray had.

Cannot be understated how, in addition to Immortal sounding fucking awesome, Abbath is one of the most fun interview subjects to watch in a video. His Reality Check interview from 2002 is a regular replay for me lol.
48. Immortal, SONS OF NORTHERN DARKNESS: If you're into the Norwegian corpse-paint sound but not the sketchy stuff that so often came with it, Immortal is the band for you. Classically awesome black metal without the baggage. youtu.be/CNjewKOXqf8?...

If I had taken my boxing hobby in high school up to a competitive level and gone pro, by this point in my life, I'd be closing any fights I win by shouting at the audience "yeah, knocked him down and I barely touched him!" to see if the mafia would eventually take me out the back and murder me.

While I'm at it with deranged resemblances to people that few people will feel me on, I rewatched The Last Unicorn last night and every time Schmendrick the Magician was on-screen, I kept seeing Tyler Lyle of the synthwave band The Midnight.

This is gonna be an observation almost nobody who would see this post would understand, but Miles Teller in this photo looks like Greg Robbins, the director/writer/co-star of Thanksgiving-Christmas classic C Me Dance (which he ostensibly regrets having made).
First look at Miles Teller as Michael Jackson’s attorney in the biopic ‘MICHAEL’

Relistening to Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and thinking "damn this must be how literally everybody else in my generation feels about that one My Chemical Romance album people are obsessed with, The Black Parade or something like that, idk I missed that train as a millennial".

Still remembering this legend after all these years, glad she doesn't have to live to see that V for Vendetta miniseries.

I don't know, maybe I'm missing something but the only thing that's happening right now is the deportation part which was already a demonstration of the Western world's inhumanity since before the movie came out. Islamophobia spiked much more in early 00s than they are right now, Seattle's ICE-less.
Rewatching "Children of Men" for the 1st time in almost 20 years and OMG, the opening lines.

"Day 1,000 of the Siege of Seattle. The Muslim community demands an end to the Army's occupation of mosques...the deportation of illegal immigrants will continue."

The movie takes place in 2027.
