They're not the main characters obviously, but the pirates in Project A Part II are setting up to murder Jackie Chan's character for whupping their ass in the first movie and it has an awesome punchline lol.
Looking for suggestions of a movie that is built around revenge, but the character who wants revenge decides not to exact it. And there's no cheating by having the bad guy die accidentally or be handed off to a local gang, etc. It should be a variation of "no thanks, I don't need revenge anymore."

I like to harp on Scorsese as a fella I like more than I love (and especially 21st Century Scorsese almost uniformly leaves me cold) but the man has gone to the mat for cinema's survival as an artform and has more than a few masterpieces where he locked in and shook us up.

Islamophobia spiked much more in early 00s than they are right now, Seattle's ICE-less.
