Yeah, the announcement made me raise several eyebrows.

I'm keeping V2 installed while use V3 just for small stuff AND taking precautions that would allow me to, at least, "rebuild" the original file in V2.

HOT TAKE: The new Leica M EV1 eliminates the very essence that made M cameras special for decades because: the rangefinder defines the M experience.

another carefully crafted product phasing out silently... reminds me of what happened to read.cv last time. Feeling we're witnessing the fading of an era that valued innovation and artistry above all else...

Another completely unnecessary junk. If they really want to dedicate to analog “vibe” then just stick perfecting a timeless analog model and reviving filmrolls. The whole vibe thing is so consumerism-driven: creating a half finished product and trick people to think they actually need it.

Many talented individuals are underutilised in mundane corporate roles, lacking the ambition to pursue innovative solutions to pressing societal problems. Entrepreneurship and independent research offer avenues for change, but societal pressures and bureaucratic hurdles hinder progress.

When people are talking about work life balance, the phrase starts with “work”, as if we have to work first before we can a life. The truth is the opposite. In that sense shouldn’t it be called “life work balance” instead?

feels like Figma Sites, just like Figma Variables, was another unfinished product announced despite it's still in beta state, it serves a very specific purpose hence not quite flexible and robust for many small teams, medium organisation or large enterprise users.

We're time traveling back to 1997 today, when WISYWIG editors were all the rage. In the decades since, web technology has clawed its way from that primitive state with semantic HTML that made accessibility possible and let content drive appearance rather than vice-versa.

Then Figma blew it all up.
Figma Dreamweaver
The dream of being able to generate working websites will remain out of reach until UX redefines its practice around semantic structure rather than layouts.
