Had to cancel the preinstalled xfinity service in my apt & not only do you have to call to cancel but the agent on the phone explains the flow to you in extremely detailed fashion.

4-steps requiring like 20 minutes including insisting they can transfer service.

Been a while since I had a CX gripe

seems like hot garbage that the NFL downgraded them from playoff games to "exhbitions" though.

I forgot the NFL apparently used to stage a losers bowl called the Playoff Bowl in the 60s before the players complained too much. Also, someone from @theringer.com.web.brid.gy wrote about my revived idea in 2019, but I'm thinking about baseball. www.theringer.com/2019/01/25/n...
The NFL Should Replace the Pro Bowl With a Third-Place Game
If you’re not first, you could still not be fourth

You can find the Public AI Decision Patterns project on aistatements.org

This was not a weekend for a side project
and yet, started on Friday
and finished on a plane today:

AI Decision Disclosure templates.

If we're going to rush down the river in a flume
to implement AI IN EVERYTHING,
the minimum standard should be
a template structure for disclosure.

consider this more performance art + discursive design project than "a thing I expect everyone will use" but...this is the sort of thing that would've been foregrounded in the early civic tech era that now seems like an afterthought.

I welcome far better iterations, I just wanted a signpost

I've been watching a lot of Finnish baseball the past few years and barely any American baseball. Alas...

no way a third-place series is less interesting than a Commissioners Cup or mid-season fake trophy that we hang banners for (hello NBA)
ronbronson.com
Third place games make sense there because ticket sales are still important to bottom lines for teams and they draw fairly well across sports there. I don't think they would here, but not convinced that even a half-sellout would be the worst thing in the world. Every few years, it'd generate cinema

I've been watching too much Pesäpallo and this is mildly Finnish-pilled of me, but convinced after watching this Brewers game that having a "third-place series" in American sports would work. Throw the semi-finalists in their own best-of-3.

So long as they win the whole damn thing, all for it. Jays getting past Yankees with a flawed lineup that clicked at the right time feels fitting. Not rolling over, but 3 games at home if not now when.

Saya Gray tiny desk which I didn't see when it came out, but have been kind of obsessed with her 2025 album. I don't think I listened to her at all before this year.

This is a common complaint about the Jays, who are forever removing starters too early. Mariners are far better built for
a World Series run, too.

Blue Jays having no bullpen arms & the manager refusing to let anyone pitch past the 4th inning. What a clown show. #alcs #baseball

There is a cult of action at the heart of tech.

This cult says: don't mind that the systems are broken. Don't try and fix them. You can just do things, using you ubermensch will.

AI has plugged into this cult to promise 10x-ing your action. But instead your will becomes subservient to the machine.
"Just doing things" is not a path to value
Action for the sake of action feels good, but the path of least resistance leads you to surrender your own agency.

Hadn't realized they were playing there again for one game, but was happy to see it. Stadium should be used for stuff besides soccer like it used to.
