Dragon in the deep. 🐉

Dragonfish (family Stomiidae) are cunning predators. Although they are strong swimmers, they prefer to lie in wait and ambush unsuspecting fishes and crustaceans. This black dragonfish (Idiacanthus sp.) was spotted at 527 meters (1,729 feet) in Monterey Bay.

What’s a song you love with a long title (at least six words)?

How about “The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness,” The National
Deleted a post about “what’s your least favorite song” because the vibes are bad enough already.

Instead: what’s your favorite song that has a long title, say at least 6 words long?

Mine: “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” (Pearl Jam)

One of my most cherished classes is my 18th century novels course where the primary learning objective is "learn how read long novels." We did a "couch to 5k" approach to attention span and note-taking.
My hot take about the “students cannot read whole novels / watch whole films / etc.” is that they can learn to do it. None of us are born with attention spans suited for long media. It is a learned skill and can be developed with practice.

Introducing Cuddles Von Profit, a capitalist cat-astrophe and a purr-fect reminder that billionaires are ridiculous, but cats are essential.

100% less morally reprehensible than a billionaire.

Adopt Cuddles and own a billionaire instead of them owning you.

Warning: Do not eat.

...An Instagram commenter wrote: 'She’s so natural with it too like it’s not even cringe.'"
Alison Luchs, who has worked at the National Gallery of Art for 47 years, agreed to learn Gen Z slang and make videos because she wanted to raise interest in the museum’s art.

A few months ago they let me walk around the Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex at night. Don't know if it was the desert rain, watching skyscraper-sized antennas swivel to catch signals from beyond Saturn, or just my fillings buzzing from the radio signals, but I had goosebumps all night.
