If Homestar had a fursona, he'd be a hamster so he could call himself Hamster Runner.

Eh? Eh? Don't you agree @strongbadnofoolin.bsky.social? EH?

I absolutely despised the man for this.

I have many reasons to not like him, but celebrating the defeat of vaccine mandates is just beyond the pale.
He has done nothing to help the state of Colorado, and everything to line his own pockets and push his own political agenda and future.

this is still nowhere near as bad as the time Polis endorsed RFK Jr. and praised his antivaxx policies

it’s been pretty funny to see Polis’ addiction to posting completely end any discussion of him as a potential 2028 candidate

"Are you impressed by Richard Hanania?" has become a good litmus test.

Value debate over substance? Influenced by X? Have trouble with bad faith? Taken in by fancier words? Think showing you're open to toxic ideas makes you better than people who aren't?

Matt Yglesias, Jared Polis — any others?

taking hanania seriously is literally like taking the black hebrew israelites who loiter outside of chinatown station seriously. same level of sense and intellectual coherence.

being in any way impressed by hanania or seeing him as a voice worth hearing is definitive evidence that your brain is a perfect sphere

Yesterday, I held a music festival in my district to register voters and speak directly to young people who don’t usually attend political events. 4,500 tickets. Music + advocacy go hand in hand. Madsoul Festival 2025 was a success.

All that stuff is like birds, fish, and earth worms arguing over whether the sky, water, or dirt is the best medium to live in.

I’m going to say the one I inhabit because it’s what I intimately know.

The main characteristic of X’ers is being a transitional generation between Boomers and Millennials, which meant getting saddled with a lot of obsolete shit while scrambling to keep up with various paradigm shifts.

And it broke way too many of their brains in the process.

I think Dominic Sandbrook is a bourgeoisie ass, but one thing he does get right in his history writing is that the ballyhooed vanguard of a given generation is composed of outliers unlike the rest of their go along, get along demographic cohort.

If a really obsessive Reddit thread can’t tell you whether Carol is Kim, neither can an LLM.

This is where you see people genuinely treating LLMs as if they know things, rather than that they are, at best, a version of reading a lot of stuff that’s already on the internet. Even if the idea that Carol is Kim weren’t silly, which it is, that would be inside the head of Vince Gilligan.
How about you just watch the tv show like a normal person?

The Second Time as Farce: Imperialism in the 21st Century
