"The kangaroo is a funny animal. When attacked, it defends itself." ~ Neville Cardus

"This is what I observe or expect to happen" isn't the same as "This is what I want to happen." Not even remotely close.

Cool. I’ll state my pre-existing (existing?) analysis.

At least 47% of Americans—voting Americans—are consummate assholes, which explains the results better than any expert punditry.

49.6% of those who voted, voted for this.
If we ever get our democracy back, we seriously need to address veto power for the appointed positions that both do/don’t actually exist. Why the F-k are people like Stephen Miller, Russell Vought, Jared Kushner, etc. allowed to create policies? NOBODY VOTED FOR THIS!!!

Hey @bennet.senate.gov @governor.ca.gov @reptedlieu.bsky.social

Just asking, is this kind of violence has a place in society? I ask because you don’t seem to have condemned it like you did that of the tragic shooting of the National Guard members.

Hey, @bennet.senate.gov @reptedlieu.bsky.social you were quick to condemn the violence yesterday.

Good.

Can you do so today?

Maybe Democrats can repeat this message. Repeatedly. Instead, one threat and they are kinda silent.

Six Democratic lawmakers are facing federal inquiries after they recorded a video urging military service members not to follow unlawful orders, a message President Trump alleged was "seditious."

This article gets very close to the conclusion it should make, but does not. Chickens out.

The conclusion? Which of the two options is the one that troops will choose almost always?
The Debate Over ‘Illegal Orders’ Misses the One Group That Can’t Speak: Today’s Troops

Since Kelly was threatened by Kegseth, has any Democrat advised our troops that they do not have to obey illegal orders?
November 27, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Notice how the usual refrain of "wait till all the facts come out" is no longer followed by the Republicans. They immediately blame Democrats.

Democrats, for their part, send thoughts and prayers and ask to wait till all the facts come out.

Republicans win by default.

Kelly may be court-martialed, but TACO 45 succeeded:

1. Neither Kelly nor any Democrat is repeating "Do not follow illegal orders" anymore.
2. Kelly is about to undergo a lot of stress and will have to spend tons of money on lawyers.
3. Schumer has still not written his strongly worded letter.

A likely way for SCOTUS to deflect?

Declare that "most tariffs" imposed by TACO 45 are unconstitutional and punt it back to the lower courts to decide which ones.

Simultaneously, rubber-stamp the deployment of troops and the Guard anywhere the president decides, because "unitary executive"

I suspect Zelenskyy is playing the better game. He knows that rejecting the terms of surrender will cut off US aid, so he agrees to a bunch of generalities, no specifics, and drags this on.

TACO 45 will feel more pressure from Putin.

I don't know who told you that the oath of enlistment doesn't include the President, but they're incorrect.

As for "illegal orders", you have to know the order is illegal in advance before refusal.

And be willing to go to jail for it.

Well, they are now married.
