Yall literally just need to convince white people to stop being racist.
We have to build a new Democratic Party, build a new American Dream, and build a new country after this administration.

First, we have to acknowledge how we got here: and that our institutions have failed far too many people for far too long.

I see why people are yelling at this but he has been delivering a pro-immigration message while saying the word “we” because he understands that this isn’t about if you have papers or not, or even if you’re a citizen or not

It’s how they get clicks. They remember just fine.
Every damn day he does something crazy and the entire MAGA leadership bends over backwards to pretend it wasn't crazy and to explain it away.

And then a few hours go by and he comes out and says "no, I did the crazy thing on purpose."

And repeat.

And the media never seems to remember that.
BREAKING: Trump says he 'didn't make a mistake' with his racist video post.

Q:  "A number of Republicans are calling on you to apologize for that post. Is that something you're going to do?"

Trump: "No, I didn't make a mistake."

He adds later: "I guess it was a take off on the Lion King."

Jim Crow, which was the rule of law and the de facto law of the land until *very* recently, was coterminous with lynching. I have to teach my students about this, because it helps underscore how innovative nonviolent civil disobedience was.
Among other things it made it clear who chose violence.
A lot of Americans seem to have the idea that Jim Crow regimes were simply flawed democracies. They were authoritarian states that violently enforced caste, disenfranchisement and racial conformity. Nonviolence was the only effective tool. And it turned out to be revolutionary.
Many replies seem to underestimate the violence of colonial rule in arguing nonviolence can’t work against brutality. That’s understandable, especially if your idea of empire comes from glossy British portrayals. But the US civil rights movement has already made the case for it v. homegrown fascists

DHS said that the woman CBP shot in the chest in Portland was “involved” in a gang shooting.

Her ~involvement~ was that suspected gang members sexually assaulted and robbed her.
After Border Patrol shot two people in Portland, DHS claimed they were "vicious gang members" tied to a past shooting.

But records I obtained reveal a US prosecutor has since directly contradicted DHS, saying, "We're not suggesting he is a gang member." My dive into how DHS' claims have collapsed:

I don’t think foreign interests should be able to funnel $500 million into the U.S. president‘s private accounts. The Constitution doesn’t think so either, explicitly forbidding this and making it the only named impeachable offense besides treason.

Sorry to get so partisan, but that’s how I feel.
