Am I supposed to understand something here? I mean beyond a waxy Chris mug.

This one is from a friend: she had to break it to an Australian ancestor-hunter that his convict ancestor had been transported for… bestiality.

Maybe it's age but I'm so tired of anger. It's obvious what he means.

Angry like this out in the world is childish and embarrassing, just boomer behavior.
so far not a single person has explained why i should put "worker's rights" at the top of my priority list
"worker's rights" is not even on the radar of my political priorities why would i care about that

It's Bad that I'm drawn to this kind of conflict like a moth to flame.

*Deep breath*

It is better to limit yourself to your most passionate issues, and focusing is not the same as abandoning

Highlighting - indelicately, alas - those most harmed by failed policy is good. Knowing who and how to help is good.

I didn't know in other cities immigration was so connected - my knowledge is local, where indigenous people are overrepresented as unhoused.
Homelessness increased primarily because of immigration (lots of people came to the US without setting up housing).

Immigrants are the reason for the US expanding population, which is wonderful. It's also a societal shame there wasn't housing built to welcome them - extremely vulnerable people are most at risk of losing their home.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

A reminder that Hillary Clinton was a senator and secretary of state.
Everyone's always like, "I don't care if Bill Clinton is in the files, take him down too, good." The time has come I think

The part that sticks out to me is the number of people in his orbit who say "well I never went to the island."

Because the follow-up question that's never asked by our stalwart media: "Why not? What did you know about the island, at the time, that would make you turn down a free tropical vacation?"

Senator Van Hollen saved a man's life - that is worth honoring, even if it were clout chasing (which it was not).
matt & co’s theory of how public opinion on immigration would respond to new information was simply empirically wrong.
at this point the only reasonable conclusion is they refuse to update their priors w/ new data because the data is inconvenient for them

Punting should be a hazard to birds and airplanes, none of this 42 yards and a fair catch nonsense.
Airing of Grievances: what are your bespoke football pet peeves? Not just shotgun in short yardage (we are all people of good taste after all) but little things that go up your ass sideways watching a game?

I *despise* big receivers that don't play like big guys and manhandle DBs.

Spouse is a baking machine - I remember eggs were $8.99 early this year, they were $1.99 one(?) time recently-ish, don't know what they were last Sunday, and don't know what they will be tomorrow.

Egg. Bird butt goo.
That’s plausible enough, but the question that raises is “why are people suddenly attributing ordinary price fluctuations to inflation?”
Agree with who you quoted. I can understand that inflation broadly has declined and also notice that the milk I get my kids has gone up 25% over the past year. The average person who isn’t a politics nerd will wrongly but kinda reasonably attribute something small like that to larger inflation.

Something I've noodled on is "why".

He sucked, why (pun) go to bat for him. The only thing harmed are his feelings, and I'm very sure no one cares about his feelings.

Apologies if this is rude and covered well in the piece (paywall) - I really respect your work.

Not for nothing, but workers in MSP hate on Somali customers more than any other group.

It's brutal, "I don't like them because they ____ not cause they're Somali"
i also believe in building a better world for workers. i also believe that all people are entitled to respect and dignity and that there ought to be social sanction for those who openly degrade others. you call me a “n*gger” to my face and i am not going to smile and shake your hand.

Tbh I can't stand complaining about secondhand, everyone's body is weird we just have to deal with it.
i’m so sick of the way people feel entitled to cheap clothes. people are taking “no ethical consumption under capitalism” to mean “don’t blame me if there were slaves in the supply chain.”

clothes should cost money—the solution is that you need less clothes, and that you should be paying a lot more

What is the point of cataloging 154 years of statistics if NOT to argue about the hall of fame.
Even as the most Hall-focused writer on this godforsaken planet, I don’t care whether a fan cares about the Hall, just as they may not care about prospect minutiae. Fan how you wanna fan, it’s cool! But if you’re following @fangraphs.com during Hall season, you’ll see Hall coverage. Not at all sorry
