On occasion, I try playing the original Grand Theft Auto out of historical curiosity.
It's bad.

Semantic observation: when people say action RPG, they tend to mean games like Tales, Ys, or Kingdom Hearts. When people say ARPG, they mean Diablo and games like Diablo

I'm always fascinated by games that feel stuck between generations. Examples include Tekken Tag Tournament (PS2 game derived from PS1-era arcade hardware) and Super Smash Bros Melee (insanely rushed sequel to a late N64 game). The Dreamcast is basically an entire console of games like that.

"It's a great album, of course people would like it" okay so why doesn't Gen Z have the same fondness for The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway or On The Beach or Maggot Brain

Competitive shooter guy complaining that single-player games get too much attention because multiplayer gamers are a minority is so funny. The whole industry has bent over backwards to appease guys like you, to their own detriment. How are you still finding things to complain about

Not going to jump on the original post but of all the games you could choose, using Final Fantasy VII as an example of the good old days when games didn't have bugs and were finished when they were released is another reminder that a lot of people are nostalgic for things they don't actually know.

I have virtually no evidence for this but I have a prediction for what's going to end up happening to Halo. The Halo 1 remake is going to act as a foundation for how modern Halo will be with all the mechanics and weapons, they'll remake more of them, and there will be a standalone multiplayer game.

A Shloske in 1974 cost $9.50. Today, that same Shloske costs $62.59. Thanks, Obama.

The first time I heard of Zohran Mamdani, he was a longshot candidate doing fundraisers with podcasters. Now he's the mayor-elect of America's largest city. I guess nobody can predict the future.

I have not been paying attention to the election in New Jersey but I'm disappointed to learn that Ras Baraka was defeated in the primary. The only thing I know him for is being in the interludes on The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

It was called the Xbox One because you had to pay One Hundred dollars more for a peripheral you were never going to use
For better or for worse, The Xbox Kinect was released 15 years ago today.

I don't use block lists, not because you shouldn't block (you should), but because I'm not going to trust someone else to tell me who to block. It should be easy to see why that's a bad idea.
Blocking hatemongers is one thing but this trend of using mass block lists to avoid hearing from people who might or might not hold points of view you expect to disagree with is unhealthy imo and hurts the platform.
Bluesky was better off with folks like Margaret Mitchell and Giada Pistilli on it.

Seeing how people who only know the Chainsaw Man anime are reacting to the Reze movie, I can only imagine how they're going to handle the Gun Devil arc.

The first chapter of Hunter X Hunter is really funny in retrospect. It sets up a world where there are hunters responsible for tracking down magical creatures and then that never happens in the rest of the series until arguably the Chimera Ant arc, but that's definitely not what anyone had in mind.

I understand a lot of you are very disappointed by the conclusion of the World Series and you're looking for something to fill the void. But please try to remember that watching the NFL has never solved anyone's problems.
