Mario Kart: Super Circuit is another weird holdover of the N64 era. To my knowledge, it was the last game to feature the N64-era Mario art style. Super Mario Sunshine would release a year later.

Melee is particularly strange because it's a crossover game that had very little to go on. None of the series represented had any games on the GameCube yet so it was all N64 games that formed the foundation (excluding Earthbound and Metroid for obvious reasons).
