My main memory of that topic is a teacher going out of his way to explain why the Nazis did it with a Roald Dahl-esque attitude. Even at the time it was hair-raising stuff.

Betty and Boba both like to sit in the crook of my arm. Which is ok with Boba, but Betty weighs as much as a fucking Labrador…

I know we talk about how bad things are with young folk now, but when we got the history lesson about the holocaust at school, there was actual heckling about "NEVER HAPPENED!" Teacher said nothing, because yikes. This was early '90s. I know things are imperfect these days, but it wasn't great then.

I still don't understand why those Depp perfume ads are still running. Even ignoring all that court case stuff, he comes across as smelling like an overflowing ashtray that shat itself.

I thinks she sees me as a fellow cat, and would find it weird to climb on me. This is her right now, squidged against my left leg.

It took Mia about four years before she would sit for more than a minute. But, once she got used to it, she'd sit for hours. 🙂

Pickle is a chest cat. You lie down, he's right there, purring on your torso. You sit down, he's no interest. Basically, he's very affectionate if *he* can look down on *you*, but not if it's the other way around.

Extremely 'on brand', now that I see it written down.

seconded, although myth busters did test it and it is an effective way to keep night vision.

In battle however a single flash from a pistol would be enough to wipe out any advantage it gave.

Anyone else got a cat that doesn't sit on laps?

Lady Winter very nearly tried it last night, stepping one foot on the blanket I had over me, until she realised my actual legs were under it. She wedges herself against me instead, always on my left.

I love her so much.

Today I learned.
Pirates wore eye patches so they could give their eye a rest, in order to properly look at the stars to navigate at night, and not because they’d lost an eye. #TOTP
