Seeing Pim be treated nicely which is always a good thing or how smooth the rotoscope animation on this looks.

At 95 & with a career spanning across 7 decades, Alan Oppenheimer's career is nothing short of legendary.
This was so fascinating to listen to.

This illustration is by Jiří Trnka in a book of Hans Christian Anderson stories that I had as a child. All the art he created for the book is beautiful - this is my favorite. It terrified me! Death is coming for the Chinese Emperor in the story The Nightingale. Death as a faceless ink-blot creature!

Pathetic.
But in case anyone forgot, here's a much prettier Coca-Cola advert from 23 years ago directed by oscar-winning glass painter Aleksandr Petrov.

I really can't say too much on this but with how far I've been able to go on the story, the 23rd chapter has been the most difficult one to get right.
But I think I'm nearly there...#wip

The fact that we don't have a proper home video release of Bionic Six is bizarre. Of all the 80s cartoons out there this is one that needs a proper DVD release with high definition picture quality.
✨Bionic Six was one of the coolest 80s cartoons ever made and that’s not just my love of Tokyo Movie Shinsha speaking!✨

I'm a huge fan of the stop motion work of Kihachiro Kawamoto & when you look back on his career as not only a stop motion animator but a puppeteer, this is a legacy not to be overlooked.
The man's work is sublime.

Like dynamite in a gold mine and no one has the bravery to actually push the plunger and set it off, Gunsmith Cats is a property that has potential to do a lot more in the modern era and we're not taking full advantage of it.
This is a series that deserves another adaptation.

on the further subject of "anime Kara watched tonight," my god the Gunsmith Cats opening is pure cool flammin perfection

Much deserved praise to this aside.
There's a serious need to make another Greek mythology film with use of practical effects for the monsters, something in the similar vein as what Ray Harryhausen did with stop motion.
Because this is nothing short of impressive.

Just got back from Cambridge to see this & it was absolutely lovely.
Getting to hear music from Hayao Miyazaki's films live with quite a small orchestra felt so uplifting & the concert itself was wonderful as well.
