Swearing in isn’t some ceremony. You aren’t a member of Congress until it happens. He knows that.

No phones, no staff, nothing.

I had to escort her into the Capitol on Wed bc Capitol police must treat her as a public visitor until she’s sworn in. And solo visitors aren’t allowed during shutdown!
Johnson: "Grijalva should be working for her constituents right now. I don't know what she's doing. I keep seeing their political stunt videos. She should be in her office. She should be working or in the district for her constituents" (Grijalva is not in fact a Rep. b/c Johnson refuses to seat her)

As Trump attacks unions and occupies our city, we’re called to remember how we got here.

Labor Day would not exist without the workers who fought and died at the Haymarket Massacre and the Pullman Strike in Chicago.

It’s not a coincidence he’s targeting Chicago:

Multiple reports that another meteor had comedown over eastern Australia.

Some footage from Higgins Storm Chasing — looks like it’s another daymaker!

Happened around 7:30pm, and reports of sonic booms, structural shaking just north of the NSW-QLD border.

This timeline of potential AI growth paths is, um...
Terrifying either way it goes, depending on how you view humanity. But it's also based on too few variables.
This predictive choose-your-own-adventure style thought experiment is based on a particular set of framings from a very narrow perspective. It offers a glimpse of what AI industry influencers think our future might hold.

Let me count the ways

Also, and related, short of firing Powell (or trying, anyway) screwing with economic data would be just about the dumbest (and worst) thing to do

The Trump administration may exclude government spending from GDP, obscuring the impact of DOGE cuts
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick says he could take government spending out of his agency's reports on gross domestic product.
