Birthday beats for Tom Waits.

From my linocut series #alphabetofmusicians where I taught myself reduction printing over the course of a year. Huge thanks to Derek Ridgers - one of the greatest portrait photographers of his generation - who kindly let me adapt his photo for the linocut illustration.

@robinince.bsky.social hi Robin, I want to send you a small book of short stories I really like, and hope that you might too. Is there a correspondence address you’re ok for me to send it to?

Best wishes

If everyone passionate about nature and a liveable future bought into this, we might gain some time in the race to avoid catastrophic change.

It’s challenging but without it we’re in a much worse position.

Why not at least give it a go next year? You might be surprised.

East of Lowestoft. Easton Bavents was once the most easterly parish in England. However, over the centuries, the promontory it stood on was eroded by the sea. EB is still losing land today: up to 5m a year in fact. 😯

Reform UK, vote Nigel Farage if you think

The Minimum Wage is too high.
The richest 4% earning £100,000+ pay too much tax.
The State Pension needs to be means tested.
We should get rid of the NHS.
The retirement age is too low.

If you hate yourself, vote Farage.

If you will never be voting for this scumbag, lets send a message.

Another look at how rivers in our region are being managed, in this case the River Waveney.

Here, a project is managing trees that have fallen into the water.

Wood can help restore natural processes and aid wildlife recovery.

We’ve been saying this on the east Norfolk coast for a few years now. The declines in the last 3-4 years have been precipitous. Cliff-edge stuff. Numbers are abysmal.

A catastrophic decline. Yet all the talk is of “restoring” nature. 🤣

The decline in insects is global and a climate-led process that has been happening for several decades.

The only actions that will slow it, stop it and then reverse it are huge-scale reductions in carbon emissions and widespread changes in agricultural practices.
