‘Malcolm’, York from the Outsiders project. He said he became homeless 15 years ago when the police raided the B&B where he was living. They closed it down and threw everyone out with no arrangements for alternative accommodation, so he became homeless and has been homeless ever since.

I have now had a comprehensive reply from @adamhug.bsky.social for which I am grateful, and he has offered a meeting with me and @ourmoh.bsky.social which is a very welcome development.
I spent hours yesterday at the tent encampment behind the Adelphi in London and as a result have sent this open letter with a plea for a meaningful intervention to

The right to trial by jury has been a fundamental feature of the British Justice System for over 800 years. Any attempt by the government to undermine this fundamental freedom - a cornerstone of our democracy and an essential safeguard against authoritarianism - must be opposed

No replies from Sadiq Khan @london.gov.uk Adam Hug @adamhug.bsky.social or @matthewpennycookmp.bsky.social in response to my email or on social media. Not even the courtesy of a holding reply. From the party which promised action on homelessness that’s very disappointing.

I'm old.

If you're not, listen to this.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.

I wish I was surprised. Buried in this Budget is a plan to slash the Digital Services Tax, giving a multi-billion tax cut to US tech giants and the likes of Elon Musk.

That's right, cutting taxes for the world's richest man while hiking them for millions of hard-working Brits.

You’ve seen the signs: ‘Trespassers Will Be Prosecuted’. They lie. In the UK ‘trespass’ is a civil offence, not a criminal one. You cannot face prosecution simply for being on someone’s land, off a designated Right of Way, open access land, or land where bylaws permit access, without permission.

I'm an "A.i." abolitionist.

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.

Had a nice walk for a couple of hours today, along the Tokaido Road from Shinagawa back to home. More walk than photowalk. Nice thing about the CFV50c digiback on the old Hasselblad film body: it's a camera with foibles, eccentricities. So it's far more a slow-time camera. Took 6 shots. This I like.
