The only possible outcome with Weston is that Juventus wind up changing their mind and re-signing him for more money in September
Weston McKennie’s time at Juventus is coming to an end ⏳🇺🇸

His contract expires this summer, and Juve have no plans to renew, per Sky Italia. After stints at Schalke and Leeds United, the USMNT midfielder is set for another big move 👀🔥

Where should he play next?

To start this World Cup year, a visit to the most successful men’s soccer player from Philadelphia that there’s been so far.

Yes, that’s Brenden Aaronson, and he’s on a hot streak at Leeds United at an ideal time for his World Cup hopes:

To start this World Cup year, The Inquirer visited the Medford native in England. And as it turned out, we were there on the day he scored a big goal in the Premier League against Manchester United.

Each US Soccer fan can only apply for 2 tickets per match? So families can basically get f’d according to US Soccer.

US Soccer rightfully throwing FIFA under the bus for pricing, but its own allocation policies are very, very disappointing.

This World Cup is a bust

but also: Pro Soccer Wire isn't really dead! It's just been relocated to USA Today Sports. The name is gone but PSW (and I) will continue. This is good news for us and for YOU, as it means our coverage will expand. More on that soon!

Kai Wagner’s sale to Birmingham City closed the door on Union 3.0.

The club’s most successful era is over and now Union 4.0 has a remarkably high standard to live up to.

The Philadelphia Union signed Kai Wagner for $50k fee + $20k add-ons from German third tier in 2019

Wagner won two Supporters' Shields with Philly & was named two MLS Best XI twice

A unique attacking presence for the system. One of the best value signings in recent MLS history
Kai Wagner has joined Birmingham City from the Philadelphia Union.

I'm told fee north of $2m.

When Wagner signed his new contract, the club promised Wagner and his camp that if an offer of this value came from England, they would accept.

Union honored that promise. Club will sign new LB now

The German left-back has joined Championship side Birmingham City after seven years in Philadelphia.

Happy Friday, and a belated happy New Year, everyone! 2025 was a tough year in a lot of ways, including the loss of one of our longtime and beloved commenters, but we also had a lot of incredible soccer moments to share together (some of which we will be recognizing in the Hey Spirits Awards soon!). I'm grateful, as always, to all of you for reading and taking part in our community and for my fellow writers and contributors, who stepped up and put in a lot of good work last year.
