Back in the beforetimes of 2021, over on the other place, I set out to answer the age old question "is my wankpanzer bigger than a tank". Here are those findings for the Bluesky record.
Q1. Is my Ford Ranger bigger than a tank?
A. Not quite but getting there.

#Filmsky folks, why doesn't Dust Bunny have a UK release date? It's got a BBFC certification but UK isn't on the list of release dates I found. Loads of other countries. Are my Spanish and German friends going to get to see it but not me?!?!

I know we're all seeing 87 unhinged things per day, but "guys if our multi billion dollar product doesn't start being useful for something, literally anything, the people might not appreciate us wrecking the planet over it anymore" is a truly bananapants thing to say out loud
Delicious to me

I need you to listen to these people.

Predictive algorithms in hiring, creditworthiness, and welfare programs are sold as objective and efficient, writes James O’Sullivan. In practice, however, they operationalize historical bias, scale discrimination, and launder political choices through opaque technical systems, he argues.
How Algorithmic Systems Automate Inequality
James O’Sullivan explains how automated decision-making can reinforce inequality, obscure accountability, and reshape power under the guise of efficiency.

Reform is a private Limited company majority-owned by one man, in the interests of making money for that man and the shareholders.

We should casually talk about the inevitability of a Reform government the same way we’d talk about casually selling the country to Dyson or Wetherspoons.
I keep seeing people on the left talking as if Reform are a shoo-in for the next government, and I beg you, please don't do that. If we on the left talk about them as if their victory is inevitable, it will become inevitable. Every time we talk about a Reform government, we legitimise that idea...
