REVIEW: Exhumed - Red Asphalt

"It’s a beautifully depraved return to goregrind flavorings that maintain the songwriting lessons and ideas of their long history—resulting in an album that’s about as nuanced as you are going to get from a band this lowbrow."

4 out of 5
Review: Exhumed – Red Asphalt
Exhumed’s latest 10-track-pile-up burns rubber and drives recklessly. For fans of David Cronenberg’s Crash.

Over 1,000 Ubisoft workers around the world have walked off the job.

In response to a return-to-office mandate, layoffs, and the cancellation of several games, workers launched a three-day strike.

The workers walked out in response to five French unions issuing the strike call.
Ubisoft workers are on strike: 'We are treated like children'
The strike comes after the publisher revealed plans to cut up to 200 jobs and ordered remote workers back into the office

When a company immediately lays off the devs of a live service game, it's not because it wasn't an immediate hit, it's because the plan is to maximize any profit by running the game with a skeleton crew.

Post-ship layoffs are the plan, not a reaction.

We wanted to get this out before Bandcamp Friday, but that wasn't in the cards. All proceeds for the next month at least will be going to VEAP, a food bank in the Cities with a mobile unit that's been doing good work lately in communities targeted by ICE.

NEW: Ring has introduced "Search Party", a horrifyingly dystopian feature nominally designed to turn all of the Ring cameras in a neighborhood into a dragnet that uses AI to look for, in their commercial, a cute lost dog.

With Ring, US consumers are actually building a surveillance dragnet.

I generally agree with this sentiment, but I also think people need to accept that some games are made specifically for sicko freaks who like getting put through the meat grinder
More games should have a cowardly baby mode. More games should let me suffer less consequences for dying or mistakes. Should have a "I just want the story" mode. Games should not pride themselves on "look how difficult we are".

I'm bad at video games and I wanna experience the good stories too :c

Saw Winterfylleth have a new album coming out so just dropping this thread from last year on Deeks, nationalism, and racism in black metal.
I recently skimmed through the PhD Thesis of Mark Deek (Winterfylleth), “National Identity in Northern and Eastern European Heavy Metal.” Yeah. Exactly. And I have thoughts…so, here we go! (1/10)

I went to a queer closet event today and tried on (and subsequently brought home) a dress today for the first time. Super self-conscious at first, but it looked and felt great. Despite everything today, I can't help but feel joy finding the confidence to express a side of myself I never have before.
