Early bsky was easier bc I had so few connections so just scrolling wasn’t even an option if I wanted to be on here for more than a few minutes.

One of the great things about early Bsky is that we promoted the idea of engagement. That is, instead of follow for follow, we followed those who conversed with us. Engagement leads to connection. So please, let’s not lose that! Engage, not just like—that’s why I follow folks, myself!

In defense of scoring albums in reviews and ranking them on lists:
1) You always communicate levels of enthusiasm. I don’t rate albums at all but I’m sure y’all can tell when I am enjoying something vs. loving it.
2) Ranking helps to figure out and show others what was most engaging for you

Speaking of aoty lists, how’s everyone’s prep going?
I have a pretty good list of 10 at the moment with some others as a maybe, and I typically have 10-15 albums on mine. So, room for some late discoveries / late releases without creating a crisis.

Came home from work at the main hospital and these fuckers (my family) found a stray cat and brought him home and the kids named him “Boink” apparently after a sound our car made.
