Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

If you're represented by one of the squishier centrists, be sure to make a call. Now.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

A word from my colleagues across the Potomac at GMU:

"...Singling out a Black leader in this way is not only unprecedented but also deeply troubling, echoing a long and shameful history of weaponizing law and bureaucracy to undermine the legitimacy of leaders of color." #SaveHigherEd #AcademicSky
Trump's Dept of Ed has released the preordained findings of its "investigation" into GMU, which we predict they will use to supplant our successful president with a Trump/Youngkin ally.

This is our statement in response.

We will fight for the integrity of GMU.

With COVID vaccine access likely to become restricted soon, now would be good time to get back in the habit of wearing a mask more frequently again if you haven’t been doing so lately.
From @ylepidemiologist.bsky.social: “If you’re under 65 and not high risk, the window to get a Covid-19 vaccine is right now—before the FDA label changes (possibly this Friday). Once it happens, access will be limited immediately.”

Last month @theatlantic.com published an often problematic piece about the war in #Sudan called “the war about nothing”. This week @thecontinent.org swings back, reminding us that what is “nothing” to you is “everything” to someone else. The Continent is a free publication, subscribe to read.

My work is on here, so I guess I’m joining the class action suit!
Since this came out I've been so bitterly amused by how *much* of my stuff is here. Folks have spent so much energy declaring my work inferior and me a "DEI hire"... but then they stole every book, story, and even interview to feed their plagiarism machines.

And yeah, I'm adding my name.
"If your books were uploaded to LibGen/fed into the LLMs, add your name to the potential class action lawsuit by tomorrow." Details:
