I need to do a write up one day about people's misnomers about this. From the difference between being alone vs being lonely, to the really weird gloating about it (when statistically almost as many women have the same problem), to how this is really the overlap of various different phenomena.
one thing i think about @moiradonegan.bsky.social's point is that you never hear people go from "male loneliness" -> why don't we get men involved in collective projects of meaning for the most part. instead it's usually a discussion about how society is too "feminine"

the F-35 is a soldier plane. it does impersonal violence at an incredibly long distance & never dogfights. the A-10 is a warrior plane. it destroys tanks with the largest machine gun ever invented, filled with half-pound bullets made of uranium. if the wing goes through the engine it's no big deal.
Genuine question: why is the choice of which plane the US air-force should commission a culture war thing at all? I think I am pretty online but I guess I just don't see how this really relates to the kinda thing we usually fight about.

It recently occurred to me that the Military saw a spike in recruitment because the usual demographic that becomes an 11B (trailer park in MO) was afraid of "woke"

Shit like this is going to affect people buying fewer higher quality clothes. The barrier for entry has gotten even higher now so people are just going to end up spending even more on worse quality clothes that don't last nearly as long.

Fencing in the US isn't really segregated by gender aside from the Olympics.
The fact it isn't also gave our women's team an edge over Europe for the longest time because fencing used to be much more sexist over there.
