Sometimes I feel like all posts about current abuses need to have an automated signature block kind-of-thing stating "All other examples of US and world horribleness are incorporated by reference."

The latter part of this tweet has gone under the radar but it's an alarming escalation. The Trump admin has already detained dozens of people with full refugee status, seemingly those who had not yet adjusted to green cards, and is detaining them in Texas and seeking to strip them of their status.
Update: Since Jan 9, there have been 12 ICE Air flights out of Minneapolis, MN—a jump from the typical 3 flights/week to Minneapolis. This surge is taking place as people with valid refugee status are being taken from their homes in MN & transferred to detention centers in TX.

Fun to think about how, say, Tim Russert would have reacted to Bill Clinton doing this. Or Jake Tapper if it was any Democrat at all.

Once again, I do not make these statements for benefit of the president but for the public’s education to understand that what he’s doing is unlawful.
He doesn’t care if it’s unconstitutional. Frankly, it doesn’t matter if anything is unconstitutional because they are renegades and do whatever they want.

None of the DoJ people who have been resigning over the last year are squishy liberals. Many likely would have served willingly in a DoJ run by legitimate, lawful conservatives. But this is an unhinged regime of crooks, sycophants, and morons.
Breaking News: Three Minnesota federal prosecutors resigned over the Justice Department’s push to investigate the wife of Renee Good, the woman killed by an ICE agent. The Justice Department sought to examine her supposed ties to activist groups.

Never do this. NEVER EVER. The odds that the AI will be wrong and you will harass an innocent are too high. AI is not magic, NCIS is a fictional TV show, and no matter how much you like Abby she isn't actually real.

This is a bad thing to do and people who suggest doing it should feel bad.
Somebody use AI and unmask this fascist!

This administration, in an extremely literal sense, does not value human life
Directly from the story: EPA "would no longer take health effects into account in the cost-benefit analyses necessary for clean-air regulations." Instead, "the agency would estimate only the costs to businesses of complying."

Note that the fascist is not using the pepper spray for crowd control. He is entering a vehicle unimpeded to depart. He is simply using the pepper spray to physically punish an unarmed citizen he doesn't like.
Big clash this afternoon between DHS agents and protesters in a residential street in Minneapolis, following a DHS agent hitting another vehicle. Tear gas was deployed in people’s yards and agents pepper prayed people.

Not remotely legal. Minnesota needs to arrest these thugs breaking down doors right now, before they start grabbing even more power

WELKER: Do you bear any responsibility to bring down the temperature?

FREY: Of course. But I dropped an F bomb and they killed somebody. I think the killing somebody is the inflammatory element here and not the F bomb.

During the Cold War the United States military had 15,000 soldiers stationed in Greenland. That presence has been reduced by 99% to just 150 soldiers today.

Denmark has given the US exclusive and full military access to Greenland but the US does not use it. This has nothing to do with security.

This bad-faith about-face is especially galling when you consider that Charlie Kirk was a loud public figure with huge influence and Ms. Goode was a private citizen with no platform and seemingly no desire to express a political viewpoint and no one would know about her at all if not for her death.
There are no rules, they don’t actually care about respect, decorum, bipartisanship or debate, and only pretend to do so to browbeat you into submission. Nothing is going to change until more people realise that and respond accordingly; including to the media and politicians who have failed them.

Kristi Noem, herself, supplied the method used to ID the agent. She said he "been dragged by a vehicle” in an earlier incident.

@startribune.com reporters, who know their way around court records, quickly unearthed his name and confirmed his identity.
The agent, Jonathan Ross, was dragged by a vehicle and injured during a June operation in the Twin Cities, court records show.
