When casting sugar gems for your creature-holding-a-branch-of-gem-leaves cake, GENTLY use fire to melt surface bubbles away.
Epoxy+chopsticks+wire = reasonable armature for branches, cover w royal icing.

Been thinking about this lately too as, beginnings do their branching off - creative seasons and cycles, all the shapes they can take when we meet them with our whole selves. As whole as we can be in the moment, anyway, given *waves arms* everything. Forging compassion anyhow.
This was one of the best things I took from that con: to see your own patterns as information, rather than leaping to judgment and castigation; to look at the work you can do with compassion, and to be grateful for the lessons that work can teach you.
