We have a little kid who needs some stability. His teacher is bringing it. He canNOT pay attention, but he loves 6 7. She has a 6 7 slide as a transition between activities in her group lessons. "If you miss it, there will be another one, pay attention." When they catch it? Its so HAPPY.

Every day I go to work, and the best part of the day is the kids. I was observing a kindergartener today, which means at least 7 came to talk to me. One wanted me to come with him to see some acorns. Another told me there were a LOT of E names in the class (Edie, Evie, Phoebe).

There is weather in the forecast which reminds me of one of my favorite "get home, stay home" stories. In 2000, we lived at the bottom of a shady hill, and when the snow started, we decided to move our cars to the top so we could get out more easily.

School psychs are understaffed, that's not news. NC underfunds education, also not news.
Currently at 1 of my schools we have 4 teachers from Jamaica, and whatever entity could extend their time here isn't doing it. A psych graduate student covering an elem school went home for a family emergency

You all are not snowed by wellness bs, so I will tell you that when a teacher mentioned that a kid who has been melting down his whole life should have a different snack than the school breakfast provided CHEERIOS because sugar = dysregulation, I didn't flip a table. Praise me.

I just said "thanks sweetie" to the pharmacy tech at Costco when getting off the call about a refill. WHY DO I HAVE TO MAKE THIS CALL EVERY MONTH. It is NEVER smooth.

Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

I am hopeful that there will be some weddings coming soon and so I signed up to go to a line dance class at a gym tonight. Be the change you want to see, etc. Anyway, I am not this smooth but it was fun!

I mailed something today and my day/week/month has been an exercise in frustration, but the post office worked exactly as expected and I gave an A+ review SO FAST. Its so hard to be nice right now and they absolutely were.
