It’s generally true that a bot will not do a better job than I can, though that depends on your skill in an area (it will do a D+/C+ job). I find it useful for making components of a figure which would take me hours on illustrator and where I don’t have a budget for a person.
It can't do a better job than you can. It can make you look selfish and lazy, though. I sincerely hope you're listening to the people telling you this.

Thanksgiving is problematic. Giving thanks is not. As someone who wants to remember the attempted genocide of indigenous people but also likes a reminder to practice gratitude, I like to use Indigenous People's Month to support (and be grateful for) indigenous creators. A partial list! /1

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.
The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

See the thing is Venezuelan oil is highly crude and while valuable-ish is not actually something the oil companies are chomping at the bit for, so this is literally just that they haven’t updated their understanding of the world since the early 90s

I don't mean this in an "I told you so" way, but it was very obvious to me that the Mamdani/Trump meeting would go the way it did, because Mamdani is ascendant, popular, powerful and charismatic, all things that Trump wants to glom on to. Trump has no principles; it's not like he has converted.

6 years ago today we lost my daughter before I had a chance to meet her. Her name was Bea Eleanor Wallach, and I am grateful every day that she existed. She made me a father, changed my life in every way, and further embedded in me the need to be a positive force.
