Congresswoman Valerie Foushee
@foushee.house.gov
Proudly representing North Carolina's 4th Congressional District.
I am proud to join @repwalkinshaw.bsky.social, @hoyer.house.gov, and @vanhollen.senate.gov's Federal Workforce Caucus.

Federal workers keep our country running, and we need to reinstate these critical jobs after Trump’s senseless cuts to the federal workforce.
The Trump administration gutted and politicized the federal workforce – targeting the public servants who keep our country running every day.

I’m proud to launch the Federal Workforce Caucus with @vanhollen.senate.gov & @hoyer.house.gov to rebuild and strengthen the workforce America depends on.

It was great to meet with Democrat members of the former bipartisan AI Task Force with my @housedemocrats.bsky.social Commission on AI colleagues. (1/2)

Early voting for the March 3rd North Carolina Primary is now open!

Our democracy only works if everyone participates. Early voting runs from Feb. 12 through Saturday Feb. 28. Learn more at NCSBE.gov/voting.

I joined @demwomencaucus.bsky.social to discuss the SAVE Act minutes before the GOP passed the bill through the House.

This bill does nothing to secure elections—it targets those who've changed names or plan to register to vote online. I was proud to vote against it, and the Senate must block it.

Today marks 117 years of the #NAACP, a leading voice in the pursuit of equality and justice for all Americans.

The NAACP has been at the forefront of the fight for civil rights and racial equity for generations, and their mission and efforts are more important now than ever.

I had the pleasure of meeting with the NC Rural Health Association to discuss how Congress can help expand the rural health workforce and access to mental health services in rural counties.

Rural areas are often left behind when discussing healthcare access—Congress needs to bridge those gaps.

I stood alongside the Congressional Black Caucus and leaders of the Divine Nine to emphasize the impact of Trump's policies on Black Americans.

This Administration is attacking Black entrepreneurship, civil rights, voting rights, social justice, and more. Black Americans deserve better.

I was honored to meet with the North Carolina Community Health Center Association and receive their Distinguished Community Health Center Advocate Award! (1/2)

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons is lying to Congress. There have been hundreds of citizens detained by immigration agents.

Director Lyons is once again reminding us that ICE is not compatible with our democracy. This lawless agency must be dismantled immediately.
Rep. Correa: “A number of cases of Americans being detained — what do we do with those people? What do we tell them?”

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons: “I don’t know of any particular case that you’re speaking of.”

The SAVE Act is another step in the GOP’s efforts to stop fair and free elections in our country.

I and my @demwomencaucus.bsky.social colleagues will vote NO on this modern-day Jim Crow bill that disenfranchises women nationwide.

The ruling to deny early voting sites at 3 NC universities, including @ncatsuaggies.bsky.social, is a senseless decision that dilutes the voices of young voters across our state. (1/3)

Judge denies demands for early voting sites on three NC university campuses
Students at NC A&T, WCU and UNCG went to court to get early voting sites on campuses for the primary. The judge said no.

BIG NEWS! All 15 of my well-vetted Community Project Funding requests I submitted last year were signed into law, delivering over $21 million in federal funding to #NC04.
February 6, 2026 at 8:45 PM
Trump’s deeply racist social media post is another reminder of his bigotry and the racism Black Americans face every single day.

We have to take steps to root out prejudice from our communities. That includes the President.

I’m proud to cosponsor @repyvetteclarke.bsky.social and @ramirez.house.gov Melt ICE Act to defund and dismantle ICE. (1/2)
February 5, 2026 at 6:28 PM
It was a pleasure to join Wake County Farm Bureau President John Burt for a conversation about the issues affecting local farmers.

Agriculture is one of NC's biggest industries, and Congress needs to take steps to support our farmers, who feed our communities and are the backbone of our economy.
February 5, 2026 at 5:58 PM
While our communities are facing higher grocery, healthcare, and housing costs because this administration’s policies, Trump is now asking for a $1.5 trillion defense budget.

It’s completely out of touch and shows just how little regard this administration has for working families.
February 4, 2026 at 8:15 PM
I hosted a roundtable with El Centro Hispano to discuss how Congress can protect our communities and ensure accountability in federal enforcement.

While ICE targets Black, Brown and immigrant communities, we must cut funding from this agency and restore dignity to our immigration process.
February 3, 2026 at 11:34 PM
I voted against today’s funding package, which includes billions for ICE through the DHS.

Though a partial shutdown would put thousands of federal workers and some programs and benefits at risk, I will not support increasing funding for ICE as it continues to terrorize our communities.
February 3, 2026 at 10:11 PM
On this day in 1870, the 15th Amendment was ratified, guaranteeing the right to vote for every single American.

While the Voting Rights Act is under attack through our court system, today is an important reminder that we must always fight to protect access to the ballot box.
February 3, 2026 at 8:47 PM
Today, I joined my @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues for a rally outside ICE headquarters to make it clear: the GOP's DHS package does nothing to help our communities, and does everything to help ICE.

Congress needs to remove Kristi Noem and defund ICE, not bolster this undemocratic agency.
February 3, 2026 at 7:54 PM
Today marks 66 years since four @ncatsuaggies.bsky.social students staged a sit in at Woolworth's in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Their actions helped ignite a movement nationwide, and we will never forget their courage which forever changed our country.
February 1, 2026 at 5:33 PM
During Black History Month, we honor and recognize the extraordinary achievements of Black Americans across our nation’s history.

We have made great progress, but we must continue to use our voices to fight against the injustice and bigotry that continues to plague our society today.
February 1, 2026 at 2:33 PM
Thank you to everyone who joined and shared their personal stories at my Seniors Listening Session in Durham.

Trump's cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and more are hurting seniors across the nation—restoring this funding has to be a priority for Congress.
January 31, 2026 at 2:35 PM
Thank you to everyone who joined my Town Hall in Morrisville! I appreciate all who came out to make their voices heard.

While Trump prioritizes wars and ICE raids over helping working families, I'll keep fighting to make sure your voice is heard in the halls of Congress.
January 30, 2026 at 9:17 PM
I signed @morelle.house.gov's discharge petition to force a vote on banning Members of Congress from trading stocks

The GOP's counterpart to this bill includes substantial loopholes—I urge my House colleagues to join us to get a vote on this bill.
