Zach has done a great job bringing a lot of resources, sample scripts, etc on how to call your senators AND representatives to urge them to vote NO on the AI moratorium in the NDAA!

Check em out!

Btw I thought at first, it was only Senators we needed to call. Please call your representatives too!

And?
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.

There's so little for teens at the box office that Netflix released a movie that had been streaming for two months already and it still made $18M in just one weekend. KPOP DEMON HUNTERS is a great example of doing it right in 2025.

Really want to encourage libraries - especially school libraries - to put no-AI content into your collection development policy. At the very least, if you have a clause in there about requiring accurate information, you can use that to weed out or prevent genAI purchases.
“When you get a suspicious book, “you look it up to see what else the [author] has written. And you see there's 30 things, and none of them have any reviews, and they were all written in the last two years,” DeMeester-Lane says.”
How Local Librarians Keep AI Slop Off the Shelves
AI is being used to create nonsensical, sometimes dangerously inaccurate books. Local librarians are tasked with keeping these volumes out of their collections.

So this is a very, very desperate move - a very silly app of generative AI slop that will be incredibly expensive for OpenAI to run, and on top of it, they're requiring rights holders to *opt out* once they see violations. You can't do it in advance. They're washed, and trying everything to survive.
